What was really striking about the movie was how beautifully framed and lit every scene was. Visually, Eisenstein had the imagination of a master painter.<BR/><BR/>Eisenstein's montage technique has been so comprehensively ripped off that it no longer has the impact it had in 1925, but there are still two things about the movie that are extremely unusual. First, it's about the last time that a mob was portrayed heroically. Mobs in movies, like real mobs, are nearly always unpredictable and dangerous.
